KUPIMA VVU NDIO MPANGO MZIMA-LINDA GOLI LAKO29th NOV, 2014 is the HIV Testing Day for Dar es Salaam

Amref Health Africa in partnership with Ministry of Health, TACAIDS,UNAIDS  in Tanzania and Salama Foundation will offer free HIV testing in multiple selected sites in Dar es salaam City on 29thNovember 2014. This is part of the national HIV Testing Campaign to mark the World AIDs Day in 2014.

In Tanzania, sixty-two percent (62) of women and 47 percent of men have ever been tested and received the results of their HIV test according to the THMIS 2011/12. The results lead to a gap of 53% for men and 38% for women that needs HTC services. So, let us join together during this World AIDS Day to close the gap

Knowing one's status is the first step in getting to early treatment. Earlier testing leads to earlier diagnosis and better health outcomes. However, significant numbers of people living with HIV continue to present themselves for testing at a late stage, leading to adverse health outcomes.
In Dar es Salaam we will be commemorating the World AIDS Day on 29 of November by engaging community members including Public and Private sector for free HIV Testing and Counseling. Servises will be provided in the frollowng areas from 9.00AM to 5.00 PM.
