 Employer Of the Year Awards… 

 Vodacom declared the best in Tanzania again! 

 Dar es Salaam December 12, 2014: The Association of Tanzania Employers (ATE) has declared Vodacom Tanzania Limited the Employer of the Year for the second year in a row. 

 The Right Honourable Prime Minister Mizengo Pinda was the Guest of Honour at this year's ATE Employer Of the Year Award Presentation ceremony which was held at the Mlimani City Conference Centre in Dar es Salaam on December 11, 2014. 

 "This is the second time in a row that we have won this accolade and is a clear indication of the work that we continue to put in to make Vodacom a great place to work, " says Vodacom Tanzania's Managing Director Rene Meza. 

 Vodacom Tanzania also emerged top in the following categories: Performance Management Process, Leadership and Governance, Human Resource Policy and Practice, Workforce Focus and Quality and Productivity of Employees. 

 Meza goes on to say that Vodacom was truly honoured by the ATE recognition and that Vodacom Tanzania's win this year was a clear demonstration of his company's commitment to ensuring that it remained at the forefront of furthering best business practices in the country. 

 "These awards serve as an incentive to us to continue to invest in our people, our systems, the community and our network because what we do has a tremendous impact within and without Vodacom. 

" The mobile phone has transcended the traditional use of just making and receiving calls. Today, you can access your finances from your palm, watch TV, listen to the radio and so much more because of the services that we offer.

" Our employees who are the key drivers of all our initiatives remain central to all that we do and that is why we continue to go from strength to strength, says Meza. 

 Last month Vodacom was also declared the second largest contributor to government revenue and the top taxpayer in the telecoms sector at the 2014 National Compliant Tax Payer Award ceremony that was held at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre.
