Lectureship in Sustainable Chemical Engineering

The University of Manchester is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Sustainable Chemical Engineering. The successful candidate will be based in the School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science (CEAS), ranked as one of the three leading Chemical Engineering departments in the UK. Sustainable Engineering is one of the areas of strategic importance for the School and the University so that the successful candidate will join a vibrant research and teaching environment. He/she will be part of the Sustainable Industrial Systems research group (

www.sustainable-systems.org.uk), led by Professor Adisa Azapagic.

The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated with demonstrable expertise in his/her field and clear potential for development at international level. You will also have a PhD (or equivalent) in a chemical engineering or a related discipline and a demonstrable research track record and expertise in sustainable engineering, including topics such as life cycle and sustainability assessment, industrial ecology, sustainable technology and corporate sustainability. The ability, or potential, to develop and undertake international quality research projects through obtaining grant and research contract awards, leading journals and conference participation, is also required.

Expertise and experience in sustainable chemical engineering would be a distinct advantage, although applicants with related engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
