Senior Supervisor Auto Electrical & Air Conditioning Maintenance , Zambia

We are looking for an experienced Senior Auto Electrical and Air Conditioning Maintenance Supervisor to join our team and at Lumwana to coordinate the production and training activities of Ancillary staff and the interface with the mine planners, supervisors to optimize the development of Lumwana mine. The position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities are:
  • Ensure all Barrick safe work practices are observed, and implemented in the department of responsibility
  • Ensure the preparation and execution of electrical maintenance plans and schedules on the basis of daily, weekly and monthly mining and ore processing priorities.
  • Supervising, training, developing and nationalisation of the electrical maintenance team.
  • The quality, cost and timeliness of electrical maintenance activities are critical to the project as whole.
  • Ensure electrical maintenance costs are kept to, or below assigned budget.
  • Display a sense of urgency to ensure timely repair and maintenance of mine and plant electrical equipment.
  • Contribute to the Operations by ensuring that all electrical maintenance activities are planned and completed in a cost effective manner with minimal disruption to ore processing and mining activities.
  • Develop and promote a quality customer service to all departments within the mine.
  • Organising all daily, weekly and monthly electrical maintenance plans
  • Coordination of all electrical maintenance activities within the Operations
  • Liaison to ensure adequate supply of mill feed
Requirements
  • Trade or technical certificate level qualification in the high voltage electrical trade (240 volt +)
  • Experience in large open cut and/or underground mining operation or large scale civil engineering projects
  • Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in a mine and mineral processing maintenance supervisory role
  • Expatriate experience in a developing country
  • Excellent working knowledge of maintenance planning techniques/software
  • Advanced computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite: dBase, word processing, spread sheeting and the site based CMMS (Pronto)
  • Ability to train, mentor and develop the existing team
