The Bank would like to invite suitable candidates to fill the position of Senior Database Administrator.
SENIOR DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR - ref DBA/ADVTAN/IT/MAY2014 REPORT TO: IT MANAGER
Key responsibilities:
Day to day database administration tasks including: Creating, modification and developing new Core Banking System (ORBIT) reports, modification of Data Quality Check files, Extractions of information to Operations and Bank Of Tanzania credit reference and End of Day Backup (EOD)
· Creation of various reports e.g. Birt reports, SQL Extract
· Help the Bank by providing in innovative ideas which can improve various and support business development.
· Help Desk support to in branches and Head Office on various applications operating within a Bank
· Periodic visit to Bank branches and solve various IT issues.
· Creation of new products/features and setup of items in Core Banking System
· Monitoring closely all e-Banking channels including ATM application, Mobile Banking and Agency banking applications.
· Managing database administrators in the team.

· Excellent written and Oral communication skills i.e. ability to communicate well with other departments and third party partners, including understand Operations terms, needs and convert them into Technical.
· High understanding, adaptable, and patient
· Excellent at problem-solving, time-management, Planning and organizing
· Able to work well under pressure and under self-supervision
· Strong Interpersonal, innovative skills and solid IT background
· Team management
Qualifications and Experience:
· Minimum University Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Computer Engineering or Equivalent with 3 Years minimum work experience in a reputable organization.
· Professional certifications in database will be an added advantage
· Proven practical experience in Sybase, Mysql or MS SQL server, administration.
· Strong SQLskill is a MUST for this position and will be tested.
· Knowledge in Stored Procedures is added advantage
· Good Knowledge in operating systems such UNIX/LINUX/ eg.Centos/Red hat
· Knowledge in basics Computer Protocols and essential networking skills will be an advantage to candidate.
· Experience in Microfinance or Banking Industry will be advantage
· Knowledge in Orbit/Equinox Banking System applications system will be an added advantage
