Member, Board of Directors - Communications in Kenya

Youth For International Development is a non-profit, Non-Governmental Organization that empowers the youth through NETWORKING, we are dedicated to provide a multi-sectoral approach to assist youths archive sustainable social and economic development.
YFID is seeking to recruit a Board member whose contribution among others will be;

1. Advice the Board on creation of outreach strategies, research and identifying prospective partners who align with YFID mission.
2. Advice the Board on creation of compelling and customized outreach materials and proposals.
3. Advice the Board on best practices to build good relationship with the media and local communities.
4. Development and implementation of YFID communication strategy, including development and improving internal and external systems of communication across the full range of access channels.
5. Actively participate in meetings and strategy sessions with public officials, subject matter experts, youth, community leaders and non-profit leaders.

Required Skills;

1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
2. Proven experience of development and implementing communications and publicity strategies and campaigns.
3. Proven experience of promoting the corporate image and identity.
4. Ability to review and write high quality press releases.
5. Proven experience of working with the press and media.
6. Experience in planning and managing corporate events.
7. Demonstrate experience of Advising senior managers and Board members on media, corporate image and communication issues.
8. Proven effectiveness working as a team member
9. comfort with web, social media and communication strategies desired.

Required Experiences;

• Applicant should hold a Bachelars Degree in any communication field
• Master's degree in any communication field is strongly preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a non-profit environment
