Infrastructure Solutions Engineer

Our client, a leading ICT company in Africa urgently seeks qualified candidates to fill the above position.

Position Description and Objectives

1. The purpose of the Infrastructure Solutions Engineer position is to provide our customers with reliable technical solutions to the complex integration solutions associated with infrastructure solutions built on the Microsoft platform. The infrastructure team supports a diverse variety of technical solutions built with Microsoft technology.
2. The engineer must apply analysis skills and experience to provide detailed reliable solutions and estimates for service implementations. High level knowledge required for assisting customers in testing and deploying solutions that cater to the customer's requirements.

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Ensuring that all solution requirements are deployed and documented.
• Managing and documenting all risks, issues and dependencies.
• Ensuring that the requirements are designed using current recommended practices, and thoroughly detailed and documented.
• Implementing solution designs in proof of concept, pilot and live production environments.
• Testing implementations against the original requirements.
• All resulting in the delivery of the desired, scalable, secure and highly available solution that satisfies all requirements.
• Share knowledge, information and current recommended practices, through one-to-one and one-to-many workshops and presentations to increase the knowledge of customers (internal and external).
• Deliver tasks assigned to self and team members by project manager are completed on time and efficiently
• Provide technical support for company's customers in form of e-mail, phone call, on-site etc.
• Ensure all certifications required by self are kept up to date.
• Creates, manages, and keeps track of service requests, trouble tickets, and change requests until resolution/closure, via a ticketing system

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):

1. An advanced diploma or degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
2. 2-5 years of experience with Microsoft platform products including the Windows NT/2000/2003/2008 Operating System and 3+ years of experience with Active Directory.
3. Be able to implement AD replication, AD backup and restore, and FSMO role placement and movement.
4. Be able to implement server installations and upgrades from Windows 2003, Windows 2003 R2, Windows 2008/Windows 2008 R2.Be able to implement AD infrastructure services server roles. These should include but is not limited to: DNS, LDAP, network access control, directory services, application services, and certificate services
