U.S.A.
Your Excellency,
I am deeply saddened by the news of attack at the Consulate of the United States of America in Benghazi that caused the deaths of Mr. Chris Stevens, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Libya and three other American officials.
On behalf of the Government and People of the United Republic of Tanzania, and on my behalf, I wish to convey our most heartfelt condolences to You, and through you to the Government and the People of the United States of America for the great loss.
The killing of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other American officials who were working at the Consulate has touched many people around the World. He will be remembered for his tireless efforts and commitment in pursuit of international peace and security especially for his work in Libya.
My Government condemns the attack against the American Diplomats as well as actions against religious beliefs. Our Government will do whatever it takes to make sure that what happened in Libya and the Middle East does not happen in Tanzania.
At this moment of agony and distress, we share your pain and pray to the Almighty God to give the families and relatives of the deceased strength and fortitude to bear this moment of grieving. We wish a quick recovery to the ones injured during the attack.
May the soul of the departed rest in eternal Peace”.
