Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a qualified candidate to serve as a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow and Leader of its country strategy support programme in Nigeria for a two-year, fixed-term, renewable appointment. The position will be based in Abuja, Nigeria and the holder will report to the Director of the Development Strategy and Governance Division. The Fellow will be responsible for a) conducting research, policy advice, capacity strengthening and policy communications in Nigeria and b) leading IFPRI's strategy support programme in that country. It is anticipated that he or she Fellow will allocate about 50% time to programme management and 50% of time to research and capacity-building activities. The required qualifications include: a PhD in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Public Policy, Public Finance or closely related field, five or more years of post-PhD research and outreach experience in agricultural policy issues, with internationally recognised publications, experience in a policymaking or advisory position, working on gender issues and strong team-building and networking skills.
