Job: National Programme Coordinator - Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Alliance Program
Location: Dar es Salaam

Reports to: Tanzania country lead in the Netherlands

Overview of the program
Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Alliance Program is a national program which aims at improving sexual reproductive health and rights of young people, women and marginalized groups. This is a five years program (2011-2015) implemented in nine countries. The countries are Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Malawi,
Ghana, Bangladesh, Indonesia, India and Pakistan.

The SRHR alliance receives its funding from the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Dutch government through MFS (co-financing system of Dutch government) Program. In the Netherlands, the SRHR alliance partners include AMREF-Netherlands, RutgersWPF, SIMAVI, CHOICE, and dance4life.

In Tanzania the SRHR alliance is formed by the following organizations; the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF) Tanzania operating in Kilindi district Tanga, Restless Development based in Iringa, Health Actions Promotions Association (HAPA) in Iramba Singida and the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) Mwanza center.

JOB PURPOSE
To provide oversight and leadership to the programme, within Tanzania and its partnerships, that is consistent with National SRH standards, guidelines and policies. The National Programme coordinator serves as the principal liaison to the SRHR alliance in the Netherlands as well as the Ministry of Health and Social welfare in Tanzania and Child Health, and the National Multi-sectoral Strategic Framework for HIV and AIDS.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee the overall SRHR Alliance programme implementation in Tanzania, including the collaboration between alliance partners, and identification of results, barriers and opportunities.
• Work closely with all SRHR Alliance partners, Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Ministry of Education and Vocational Training and other relevant ministries and stakeholders in implementing and reviewing the programme through identified programme strategic components in addressing SRHR for the young people, women and marginalised groups in Kilindi Tanga, Iramba Singida and Iringa.
• Coordinate Regular review meetings with the Alliance partners and other stakeholders to discuss programme progress and follow-up on Implementation of the planned joint activities
• Review, update and prepare annual SRHR context analysis of Tanzania and advise the Alliance country lead relating to programme adjustments at the country level.
• Ensure timely submission to alliance country lead quality semi-annual and annual overall UFBR-programme reports based on individual partner reports.
• Timely submit to the Alliance country lead country-specific annual work plans and budgets for the UFBR programme.
• Search for new information and research findings in SRH issues, and other related issues and applying knowledge to enhance programme performance.
• Guide and lead the team in documenting lessons learnt for programme development, scale-up, and disseminating knowledge and best practices in meetings/conferences and advocate for policy and practice change
• Oversee the management of overall programme budget including quality partnership with sub-grantees.

Qualifications and Experience:
• A postgraduate degree in relevant fields such as public health, health promotion and social sciences.
• Not less than five years experience on Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV
& AIDS programs.
• Excellent programme management and coordination skills.
• Strong team leader and player skills
• Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent networking and organizational skills
