55075 - FOREIGN LANGUAGE/ANALYST - Swahili (Clearable to TS/SCI with Poly)
Program Overview:
As a CACI linguists you must provide a full range of support in processing materials or participating in situations requiring a general professional capability in the translation of reports/texts in electronic and hardcopy formats that not only contain facts but also some abstract language showing an ability to capture intended implications and many nuances. You would also be capable of capturing geopolitical, regional, ethnic and cultural elements in text, as word choice and expression generally adhere to target language norms. Our linguists should be able to interpret both consecutively and simultaneously as required by the customer and possess a good understanding of many of the regional dialects within their language field. Transcription techniques will be utilized by our linguists to review audio or Internet material and transcribe it with a high degree of accuracy and expression, including the utilization of and understanding of gisting and summarizing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Swahili linguist to provide translation, transcription, and interpretation support.
* Accurately translate, transcribe, and interpret oral and written source material from the Swahili language to the English language.
* Translated material could include hand written or typed documents (hard copy or electronic), and multi-media (audio/video) material.
* Must use proper grammar, correct syntax, and understand common expressions in both Swahili and English.
Required Qualifications:
* Must score an average of 3+ on customer required testing in language proficiency for speaking, listening, and written translation.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
* Minimum 10% travel required.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, or five to seven years of relevant experience.

* Knowledge and understanding of geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural environment in which the language is used is preferred
