Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, US is currently seeking applications from eligible candidates all over the world for its master's degree in international peace studies scholarship program.

Notre Dame's Kroc Institute is one of the world's principal centers for the study of the causes of violent conflict and strategies for sustainable peace. Faculty conduct research on war, genocide, terrorism, ethnic and religious conflict, and violation of human rights; teach students earning degrees in peace studies; and contribute to on-the-ground peace-building worldwide.

The Kroc Institute is a leading center for peace research and teaching. The master's degree prepares students from around the world for a wide range of careers in the public, private, and non-profit sectors.

Eligibility

Admission to the Kroc Institute is highly selective. Successful candidates for admission have outstanding academic credentials as well as work experience in areas related to peace and justice.

Men and women of all nationalities and diverse religious and philosophical traditions are welcome to apply.

Scholarship Provisions

Students accepted into the program receive a full scholarship, a stipend for housing and living expenses, and an outstanding graduate education.

Professional Tracks for M.A. Students

The three professional tracks are designed to help master's students advance their career trajectories within the broad field of peace studies. Each track offers core knowledge and skills relevant for work in the area.

Conflict Analysis and Transformation: This track deepens student understanding of the nature and dynamics of conflict as well as strategies for managing and transforming conflict into more positive relationships, sustainable peace, and just societies. Students gain skills in identifying key factors and dilemmas in conflict settings and in fostering constructive change processes.

Policy Analysis and Political Change: In this track, students analyze policy formation, implementation, and evaluation designed to build sustainable peace. Students gain skills in developing policies as well as broader initiatives to promote normative and structural change.

Organizational Management and Leadership: In this track, students gain a deeper understanding of the role of various kinds of organizations in peace-building and the challenges they face. Students reflect on what it means to be a leader in an organization, the ingredients of effective leadership, and their own leadership style. They also acquire skills and tools needed to manage organizational peace-building efforts effectively.
