VACANCIES

The University of Dodoma invites applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill the following academic positions.

POSITION: Professors - PUTS 6.1 (12 Positions)

Required qualifications

MUST have a PhD; a Masters Degree in the relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the first degree with minimum scores of B+ in relevant subjects or its equivalent from a recognized
Institution. In addition, one must have post PhD working experience of 9 years in a related field and 18 points from International peer reviewed publications (from at least
two sources including a minimum 45% from diversified journal publications

Duties and responsibilities

i. To carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars, practical, invigilation and assessment for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
ii. To mentor junior staff in relevant fields.
iii. To lead play leadership roles at various levels of the University
iv. To develop curricula, formulate academic policies and offer technical assistance to University organs.
v. To undertake research, publish/disseminate results
vi. To carry out consultancy and community services.
vii. To supervise field practical, undergraduate special projects, Master and PhD theses and dissertations
viii. To publish scholarly books in the relevant specialist that advance frontiers of knowledge
ix. To perform any other duties that may be assigned by relevant authorities.

POSITION: Associate Professors - PUTS 5.1 (18 Positions)

Required qualifications

MUST have a PhD; a Masters Degree in the relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of
5 and a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the first degree with minimum scores of B+ in relevant subjects or its equivalent from a recognized institution. In addition, one must have post PhD working experience of 6 years in a related field and 12 points from International peer reviewed publications (from at least two sources including a minimum 40% from diversified journal publications).

Duties and responsibilities

i. To carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars, practical, invigilation and assessment for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
ii. To mentor junior staff in relevant fields.

POSITION: Senior Lecturers: PUTS 4.1 (24 Positions)

Required qualifications

MUST have a PhD; a Masters Degree in the relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the first degree with minimum scores of B+ in relevant subjects or its equivalent from a recognized institution. In addition, one must have experience of 3 years in a related field and 5 points from peer reviewed publications (from at least two sources including a minimum 35% from diversified journal publications).

Duties and responsibilities:

i. To carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars and practical for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
ii. To mentor junior staff in relevant fields.
iii. To participate in curriculum development.
iv. To conduct research, consultancy and public service.
v. To supervise field practical, undergraduate special projects, Master and PhD theses and dissertations.
vi. To perform any other duties that may be assigned by relevant authorities.

POSITION: Lecturers: PUTS 3.1 - 3.3 (36 Positions)

Required qualifications

Holders of a PhD, M. Med or M. Dent Degree from a recognized institution, a Masters
Degree in the relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and a minimum GPA of
3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the first degree with minimum scores of B+ in relevant subjects or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Duties and responsibilities

i. To carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars and practical for undergraduate and postgraduate courses
ii. To mentor junior staff in relevant fields.
iii. To participate in curriculum development
iv. To conduct research, consultancy and public service

POSITION: Assistant Lecturers: PUTS 2.1 ( 100 Positions)

Required qualifications

Holders of Masters Degree in a relevant field with at least with a GPA of 4.0 out of
5 and a minimum Degree GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the First Degree with a minimum score of B+ in the relevant subject or its equivalent, Both Master's and Bachelor's degrees must be obtained from recognized Institutions.

Duties and responsibilities:

i. To carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars and practical for undergraduate programmes.
ii. To conduct, publish/disseminate research results
iii. To participate in research, consultancy and public service
iv. To perform any other duties that may be assigned by relevant authorities.

POSITION: Tutorial Assistants: PUTS 1.1 - 1.3 ( 45 Positions)

Required qualifications

Holders of Bachelors Degree with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent from a recognized institution. Additionally, one must have scored a B+ in the relevant subjects or its equivalent.

Duties and responsibilities

i. This is a training post. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a Masters Degree Training programme.
ii. To conduct tutorials , seminars and practical training;
iii. To assist in research, consultancy and outreach activities;
iv. To teach Certificates and Diploma Courses
v. To perform any other duties that may be assigned by relevant authorities.

Required qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Fine Art, Music, Language, Special Education, Chemistry, Physics,
Engineering, Theater Art, or its equivalent from any recognized university/institution.

Basic Duties

Assists teaching of relevant areas of specialization e.g. preparation of teaching materials, arrangement of the labs, studio, etc. assisting students with disability.

Required qualifications

Holders of(NTALevel6), in Science, Diploma in Medical Lab. Technology, (DMLT),
City& Guilds I &II (CGLT), Higher National Cert.(HNC) or its equivalent from a recognized University/institution.

Basic Duties

Carries out specified tasks connected with research, laboratory practical, students' projects, consultancy and services; and assists in cleaning, repair and maintenance of laboratory or workshop facilities/equipment

Required qualifications

Holder of Bachelor Degree/Advanced Diploma in Materials Management,
Supplies, Procurement or its equivalent from a recognized Institution PLUS a CSP and
must registered by a recognized Procurement and Supplies Professional Board.

Basic Duties

Prepares purchase requisitions/orders upon approval by his/her supervisor

Diploma in Education or Home Economics or equivalent qualification preferably with past experience of not less than four years in related field

Required qualifications
Holders of a University degree with a bias in Educational Psychology/Divinity or Social
Welfare; Advanced Diploma in Social Welfare or Community Development with three year's relevant working experience in a similar position.

Duties and responsibilities

Manages students' welfare including accommodation, catering, health, recreation etc.
