An opportunity exists to join Australia's leading international volunteer sending agency – a valuable contributor to the sustainable development of a wide range of communities.
Reporting to the Manager Regional Operations (based in Melbourne), the Country Manager role manages a small office with responsibility for ensuring the coordinated delivery of a high quality Volunteer Program in the region - AVI's Eastern Africa region comprises: Tanzania (Arusha office), Ethiopia and Malawi.
The successful applicant will have;
· Demonstrated program management experience – with a focus on project/program development and implementation and monitoring as well as security, risk and critical incident management
· Previous volunteer/deployee management experience – especially experience dealing with wellbeing support, conflict and sensitive issues
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
· Working knowledge of development issues in the region and well-developed cross cultural awareness
· Strong administrative, financial and problem solving skills – experience managing a small office will be well-regarded
