Reporting to the Senior Manager-National Dealer & Key Accounts, the position holder will develop, retain and achieve maximum sales volumes for single point of entry and other channels.
This role is tasked with the acquisition, growth, profitability and retention of direct sales channels. They will also create and sustain premium branding and merchandising standards for the channels.

KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER

Reporting to the Senior Manager-National Dealer & Key Accounts, the position holder will develop, retain and achieve maximum sales volumes for single point of entry and other channels.
This role is tasked with the acquisition, growth, profitability and retention of direct sales channels. They will also create and sustain premium branding and merchandising standards for the channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquisition of new key accounts and other non-traditional retail outlets to sell Safaricom products and services
- Achievement of sales targets in terms of airtime sales, data and devices revenue generated the channels
- Grow and retain Key Accounts channel portfolio through implementation of Channel Growth and Development programmes
- Manage the formulation and implementation of marketing plans per channel
- Effectively manage the overall operations of newly acquired channel accounts and ensure compliance to channel contractual agreement requirements
- Lead the implementation of an effective merchandising plan for the assigned retail channels
- Conduct regular business reviews and progress evaluation with each client/channel
- Develop and manage implementation of effective promotional activities within the sales channel
- A degree in Business Administration/Bachelor of commerce or related field
- Must have 5years experience working in Sales, FMCG
- Experience in channel management, Relationship Management and Account development
- Strong thinker with a strong business and commercial sense
- Team player with pleasant outgoing personality & resilience
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, confident, energetic & with ability to work under pressure
- Strong negotiation skills
- Must demonstrate sales planning, forecasting and sales execution experience
- Ability to work well under pressure with a positive attitude
