Background:
DAI is looking to work in Ethiopia on an anticipated DFID programme in the Somali Region to support economic growth and wealth creation.  The objective is to create jobs focusing on youth and rural employment whilst promoting green growth. A large emphasis will be supporting women and children in the marketplace. The programme will also look to focus on product diversification of crops.

Objective of the role:
We are seeking applications from highly experienced experts who have worked on donor funded programmes focusing on wealth creation and youth employability.

Experience
  • Working knowledge of DFID and donor funded projects
  • Experience in agriculture value chains/M4P and livelihoods
  • Experience in managing successful livelihoods programmes with a focus on youth employability
  • Long term field experience and strong understanding of wealth creation issues, preferably in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining relationships with high level government officials
  • Programme management skills experience in fragile states, conflict contexts
  • Experience in managing international and national teams from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Strong track record in providing strategic leadership, managing change and implementing innovative approaches
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Ethiopia/Somali Region Experience
  • Fluency in English (both written and oral) is essential
  • Fluency in Amharic would be an advantage
