Coordinator of New Schools (CNS) - PEAS Uganda


PEAS Uganda seeks to recruit urgently for the following positions;
SCHOOL DIRECTORS (10 posts), HEAD TEACHERS (10 posts) and 1 COORDINATOR OF NEW SCHOOLS ( CNS) for the schools below

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Role summary
The role exists to enhance and support new PEAS school growth. The CNS leads new schools' community outreach and pre launch operations, and will work frequently with newly recruited school leaders.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following;
  • Ensure community relations are well managed before, during and after school launch in all new communities
  • Operationalise and guide school leaders to implement the community relations plan.
  • Support new schools to achieve their first year students enrolment targets
  • Work with school leaders to ensure licensing and registration of new schools.
  • Line Manage New School leadership to help achieve first year Inspection results
  • Coordinate the placement of leading school directors from within the network to help support young or failing schools through peer to peer mentoring.
  • Support new schools to setup functional Boards of Governors as per MoES requirements.
  • Identify gaps and non compliance with organizational operational systems, procedures and policies and feedback to relevant department heads.
  • Maintain active and healthy connections with other key stakeholders that are important to the development and execution of new schools improvement plan especially district leadership and critical departments i.e., directorate of education at the district
  • Create powerful written internal and external communications relevant to the progress of new schools.
  • Work with the finance teams to support school directors to reduce audit management recommendations
  • Support the Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator to embed and sustain standard paper and electronic school based record keeping systems.
  • For each school, review success of community relations plan, strategies successfully employed, enrolment figures and document lessons learned, challenges and strategies that can bo adopted to support grappling schools.

Requirement:

  • Significant experience in community relations work.
  • Experience with grassroots education programmes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to secondary school education reform.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors Degree in Education, Post graduate Training In Education Management
  • At least 5 years' experience in Education management preferred.
