TAWREF is seeking to employ one qualified individual to fill the positions of 1 Interventionist

 7 months with possibility of extension

Duties and Responsibility:

Working with vulnerable children and their guardians/ caregivers.

Observing guidelines around ethical challenges, protections and cautions for personnel. These are designed to ensure child protection during the process of talking with children about difficult and potentially traumatizing topics as well as in terms of the information provided or observed about the child's safety and security. 

Requirements/Qualifications:

B.A. degree in social work and/ or child development or child health or education related field or the equivalent experience. 

Post-graduate experience working with children and families, preferably experience in families with high need. 

Minimum of 5 years prior experience before, during, or after academic work with and gathering information from children and families in areas related to child needs, psychosocial support, grief, HIV/AIDS and/or other topics requiring sensitivity to potential trauma, stigma, and violation of confidentiality. 

Language proficiency in English and Kiswahili. 

Experience and/or commitment to research rigour. 

Willingness to encounter children and families with chronic or acute, potentially traumatic experiences, along with willingness to encounter vicarious trauma and to use supervision to cope with same. Keeping all information of participants and/or patients confidential

A minimum of three references from individuals who have worked with the candidate and are familiar with their personal integrity.
