M&E And Learning Consultancy Comic Relief. Closing date: September 30, 2011. Description:Comic Relief is a major grantmaking charity based in the UK which strives to create a just world free from poverty. In 2006 Comic Relief launched a Funding Direct Initiative, now known as devolved grant making, to pilot a new model of international grant making with African grant makers. During the pilot phase funding was provided to two African grant makers (African Women's Development Fund – AWDF, and Nelson Mandela Children's Fund – NMCF) to re-grant to African civil society organisations and invest in building their own capacity. As a result of a positive evaluation of phase I, funding has now been provided for a further three years for the two previously funded African grant makers (AWDF and NMCF); for three new African grant makers (Foundation for Civil Society - FCS, Akiba Uhaki and Kenya Community Development Foundation – KCDF); and for the African Grant makers Network (AGN) a newly established, continent-wide networking organisation. In total £9.15 million will be allocated to the devolved grant making initiative between 2011-2014. We are now looking to engage an M&E and learning consultancy to support an ongoing evaluation of the initiative 2011-2014, and to generate evidence on the role that African grant makers play in supporting local civil society to tackle poverty and injustice in Africa The attached ITT explains more about the initiative and what the requirements of the consultancy are: Comic Relief Devolved grantmaking.doc 105.00 kB. We will shortlist a number of candidates who will be invited to Comic Relief to give a brief presentation and to discuss their proposal in greater detail on either 4th or 5th October 2011. We would hope to commission the successful candidate to begin work w/b 10th October 2011 to enable them to prepare for and attend the devolved grant making partners meeting 19-21st October 2011.
