CATERING QUALITY ASSURANCE SUPERVISOR

African Barrick Gold’s Bulyanhulu Gold Mine seeks to employ an experienced Catering Quality Assurance Supervisor. This position is to ensure the efficient delivery of all Food and Beverage services to BGML through the supervision and management of the contracted service providers for catering, bars and shop management. Catering services includes the provision of resident’s meals on manday rates through to non-resident meals, office supplies, functions, and other related services.

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Monitor the performance and service of the contractor and the contractor’s employees, ensuring that it is in line with BGML policies and procedures and that it is compliant with the contract scope of works

• Audit Quality Assurance and safety practices

• Develop plans and strategies for improvement

• Ensure contractors’ employees work in a safe manner

• Manage the catering budget and ensure that budgeted forecasts are achieved

• Ensure the catering contractor adheres to Australian food safety standards and practices

• Monitor the contractors’ record-keeping procedures relating to quality control

• Ensure that standard procedures are developed and are kept current for all catering tasks

• Assist in the development and training of team leaders / supervisors

• Collect statistical data from questionnaires and write reports summarizing findings

• Monitor functions, themed nights and special events for quality of service and catering

• Conduct daily briefings with contractors’ supervisor or key representative and advise of any complaints or positive comments from customers

• Conduct random checks to assess job completion and quality level

• Immediately report any misdemeanors or accidents to the Facilities and Services Manager

• Fill in for the Facilities and Services Manager as required

PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

Education Requirements:

• Successful completion of Tertiary education in Food or Hotel Management

Experience Requirements:

• Experience in a management role within the hotel, industrial catering or service industry

• Exposure in dealing with multicultural employees / customers within a large organization

• Experienced in managing employees and contractor companies

• Follow health, hygiene, safety and work procedures

• Must have strong computer skills
