OMASI stands for Orkonerei Maasai Social Initiative.
The mission of OMASI is to reduce poverty among the Maasai, create income
diversity, reduce rural- urban migration and eventually cede ownership
towards the local communities.
The strategic approach to this focusses on setting up commercial businesses
that will eventually become self-managing and economically independent.
Several ventures in the area of milk processing, dairy farming, forestry,
bio-fuel, charcoal production and honey processing are either underway or in
the process of being set up.
OMASI is a social initiative which is initiated by a foundation in the
Netherlands and a local Maasai pastoralist organization. The ventures are
mostly located in the Simanyiro district, Manyara region, Northern Tanzania.
The head office is based in Arusha.
Some of the companies within the OMASI structure are:
Dutch Orkonerei Social Investment: Engiteng is the brand name for the five
milk processing units of the Dutch Orkonerei Social investment Ltd (DOSI),
one of the OMASI companies. The Engitengs are located in Longido, Terrat,
Naberera, Orkesumet and Same and are processing milk into Gouda cheese,
yoghurt, butter and ghee (www.engiteng.com
Energy & Water Social Investment Company (EWC): EWC is involved in
electricity supply, bio fuel production (by processing Jatropha seeds),
bio-gas production and rural water supply and will become engaged in
processing drinkable bottled water
Rotiana - Honey Division: Rotiana Social Investment Ltd. is a farm close to
Naberera engaged in farming activities like dairy, forestry, crops, aloe and
honey processing.
Orpul: Orpul Ltd is a slaughterhouse located at the Rotiana farm and is
involved in the processing and packaging of high quality meat.

Main Responsibilities
The Purchase Manager will be responsible for:
Overseeing the procurement function and the managing the logistics of
procurement and delivery of items to the farm and projects.
Managing supplier accounts and organizing credit terms.
Controlling paper documentation and the processing of formal system
documents.
Implementing controls from the procurement process through to the stores
process.
Administration of the movement of any goods, stock, fixed assets and any
other items as may be required.
Control of price/quality and negotiation of purchase prices, terms &
conditions
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain
Requirements
Candidate must be mature and able to work well under pressure.
Must have effective and efficient organization skills and good communication
skills.

Atleast 5 years' experience in Logistics.
Candidate should have previous experience of stores control, the purchasing
process, and stock control system, both manual and computerized
Group Controller

Main Responsibilities
. Coordinate and manage the accounting process to ensure that all
financial transactions are completely and accurately captured in the
financial system, and that all related actions are taken
. Improve processes and procedures
. Provide guidance to the accounting team of different
Accountant/Administrators who will be working at different locations
. Participate in preparation of financial reports.
Qualifications
. Bachelor degree in Finance and Accounting or its equivalent, CPA or
ACCA is an added advantage

Accountant / Administrator

VAT submissions and statements
Tracking company's external debtors as per Exact Globe.
Monthly staff debtors management and reconciliation.

Fixed assets register maintenance and reconciliation with ledger.
Monthly bank reconciliation.
Qualifications

Lodge Manager

Main Responsibilities
. Drive the broader goals of the company, in terms of the lodge, by
planning and implementing Strategic Management Plans
. Management and training of the lodge staff in line with the Lodge
Standard of Excellence

. Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping and maintenance and

Qualifications:
. The applicant must be a holder of recognized hospitality training.

Stores Manager

Main Responsibilities
. Arrange for procurements for all initiative.
. To ensure store environment (both interior and exterior) are
maintained at company`s standards.
. Proper checking of prices against invoices and orders
. To ensure that all issues (issuing of goods) are made as per
requisition.
. Participating in quarterly stock take
. Execute and monitor loss prevention programmes.
. Ensure all items in store are well maintained including proper
keeping of bin card.
. Ensure that all orders are properly documented and released on
time.
. Help the store workers to receive stocks and weigh where necessary.
. Perform all other duties as he may be assigned from time to time by
his or her supervisor.
Qualifications:
. Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Logistics
. Good communication skills
. The ability to work independently
. High levels of accuracy
. Experience with different software packages, preferably a
logistical one
. Able to respond to crises in a calm manner (stress tolerant)
