•To lead and manage the card business. This will include setting up strategies, implementing and monitoring of the same to ensure that the set objectives are achieved.
•Ensure a strong and robust mechanism to monitor and maintain plans for card operational risk management.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Performance
•Implement strategies and set objectives that optimally contribute to CB business.
.Initiate, manage and maintain a card and direct sales driven culture by introducing new relationships that will enhance business portfolios.
•Manage the card business in an effective and profitable manner & •Ensure reduction on all controllable costs.
•Co-ordinate the effectiveness of the card sales operations with other consumer banking units.
•Coordinate Product implementation between Business; Operations, Technology & all third parties.( Visa/Master card)
• Creating MIS tools for senior management to gauge market perception of card business
•Preparing market analysis reports & performance presentations to the senior management on a month-to-month basis
•ensure Channel growth through product development, new acquisitions and expansion and deepening of existing relationships.
2. Risk Management
•Maintaining robust procedures, controls and monitoring plans for card operational risk management.
•Prepare operational risk reports; key risk indicators as required and Ensure timely reporting of all OR issues to UORM.
•Ensure satisfactory compliance to reviews and audits on the conduct of the KCSA
.
Money Laundering
Exercise due care and diligence on money laundering matters and support the bank's efforts in combating it by adhering to the key principles in relation to knowing your customer, reporting suspicious transactions and safeguarding customer records.
3. People Management
•Management of staff in the unit to ensure high moral staff development and competency and professionalism in a motivated work force
4. Business Engagement(others)
•In conjunction with the business finance support, ensure that robust budget planning is carried out to set achievable and realistic targets.
•Manage and ensure that the desired service providers' service levels are adhered to and in liaison with legal and compliance, address/mitigate legal risks faced by the bank as a result of these relationships.
•Maintain a regular interface interface/correspondence with merchants, telecommunication companies, aggregator and the organisations to promote a mutually beneficial relationship.
•Provide support to all the branches on VISA related operations.
•In conjuction with the marketing department, ensure that all the marketing initiatives are implemented
Qualifications & Skills
•University degree preferably in Accounting or Finance options.
•At least 3 years working experience in banking with 2 + years in Card operations
•Good computer skills
•A good understanding of bank guidelines in relation to CB products
•Good communication, interpersonal, analytical and writing skills
•Project management skills
•Ability to handle the card in such a way that it remains a value add product to the bank.
•Judgement on matching job requirements and exceed targets
•Ability to give sound judgement on sales and service drivers taking into account market forces and future trends
•Ability to work under pressure to attend to ad hoc duties
