| Position Description | The Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) seeks applicants for positions at the tenure-track or tenured level in Electrical Engineering, with an expected start date of July 1, 2013. We invite applications in all areas of Control Theory, Information Theory, Communications, Signal Processing, interactions between these fields (e.g. control with limited information) and applications. We are particularly interested in non-classical research (e.g. quantum mechanical, new approaches to distributed, non-linear and stochastic control, information theoretic analysis of energy consumption, communications over non-linear media, non-linear signal processing ) or modern applications (e.g. biological, stochastic adaptation against cyber-attacks, dynamic control of materials properties) for these foundational areas. The Electrical Engineering program benefits from outstanding undergraduate and graduate students, an excellent location, significant industrial collaborations, and substantial support from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. | Basic Qualifications | Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in Electrical Engineering or related field by the expected start date. |
| Additional Qualifications | In addition, we seek candidates who have an outstanding research record and a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and graduate training. We are in particular looking for broadly educated and multidisciplinary applicants in all ranks, of exceptional potential, who can interact with a wide range of both Electrical Engineering and other SEAS faculty. |
