MANAGER, INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT




Precision Air Services Plc is a fast growing private Tanzanian airline which operates in partnership with Kenya Airways, with its strategies to expand wings beyond East Africa and Africa.

In order to keep our services at a higher level and meet our customers’ maximum satisfaction we wish to invite applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill in this challenging position.

POSITION:             MANAGER, INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT

REPORTS TO:         DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION SYSTEM

DUTY STATION:    DAR ES SALAAM

Role Purpose Statement:  To lead the IS Development division in working with business users in successfully implementing IS business systems, from project inceptions to delivery within stipulated deadlines. Also continue to monitor the effectiveness of business systems to adopt them to evolving /changing requirements.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

·         Be an integral part of strategic development process and keep the Head of IS fully briefed of all upcoming operational process requirements/changes.

·         Manage business system implementation projects from inception through delivery and continue to perform post implementation audits.

·         Ensure that business systems implementation meet set business objectives, bring about desired improvements in the target business area, and are delivered within time and budget allocations.

·         Develop and motivate an innovative and inspired I.S Development team and re‐evaluate their skills and progress to ensure delivery of KPIs.

·         Manage external project resources and /or vendors to ensure that all project needs, milestones and timeframes are met.

·         Manage the inter‐departmental client relationship, drawing on resources throughout the company to deliver on business needs through a coordinated development of related systems.

·         Provide users with guidance in both emerging technologies as well as application of best practice implementation and usage, so as to ensure that they use technology in the best way possible.


Minimum Qualifications:

·         Graduate in IT or related field
·         At least 5 years experience as a leader in IT project management.
·         IT Business systems product certifications an advantage.
·         At least 3 years overall IT management experience.
·         Membership and other relevant IT certification an added advantage.

·         Ability to champion solutions with high payback potential.
