Thomson Safaris Ltd, Arusha are inviting applications for the post of
Transport Manager
To Serve as the Transport Manager in the Safari Operations Department's
Booking and Scheduling Team, assisting the Head of Department to effectively
and efficiently run the operations of the department. The responsibilities
and tasks will encompass the relevant aspects of transport, guide and driver
resource planning allocation and management.
Education: Minimum of Ordinary Level, further education in vehicle
operations, logistics, business or accounts related studies an advantage.
Prior experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience
in operations and managing people
At least three years at middle management or senior supervisory level
Language proficiency: Level 4 (fluent) in English and Kiswahili (writing,
reading and speaking) is required.
Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, and
generally accepted accounting and management standards.
Familiarity with Tanzanian business practices and commercial accounting
systems.
Skills and Abilities: Sound supervisory and managerial skills. Ability to
work in a team. Good planning, analytical and reporting skills coupled with
sound practical sense. Excellent interpersonal skills to interact
effectively with senior management and subordinate staff. Must have
excellent computer, typing and writing skills and be able to provide
meaningful analysis and reports to Senior staff.
