The United Nations seeks to recruit experienced and motivated professionals for multiple positions in the Procurement Sections in Peace Keeping Missions worldwide and at the Headquarters in New York.
The United Nations Secretariat and Peace Keeping Missions procure goods and services to support its activities at its headquarters, Offices Away from Headquarters, Regional Offices, Commissions, Tribunals and field Missions (peacekeeping operations and special political missions). The objective is to provide responsive and effective procurement services while achieving best value for money and ensuring a competitive, fair and transparent process. The total value of procurement in 2010 was $3.14 billion.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, analysis of requirements and development of procurement strategies, planning and management of procurement process, conducting bidding exercises, negotiating, monitoring and reviewing contract documents and awarding contracts, reviewing change orders in accordance with the United Nations regulations and rules. In case of P-5 and P-4 Chief Procurement Officer positions, responsibilities will include providing recommendation on procurement policy, leading and directing procurement teams and managing staff performance.
