ECONOMIST– 2 POSTS
Reports to: Head of Division.
Location: Monetary and Financial Affairs Department
Job purpose:
To collect, compile, monitor and analyse monetary, fiscal, financial and general economic data for incorporation into the Bank of Tanzania publications and for forecasting short and medium-term key macroeconomic variables/indicators.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Collecting and compiling monetary and financial data for economic analysis;
b) Preparing inputs on monetary and financial developments for BoT publications and Board Papers;
c) Carrying out studies related to monetary, fiscal, and general economic issues;
d) Participating in daily liquidity management and forecasting;
e) Analyzing statistics using contemporary quantitative tools to extract behavioral information that can be used for forecasting purposes ;
f) Developing and maintaining forecasting frameworks for medium-term and short-term forecasts of key macroeconomic variables/indicators;
g) Monitoring financial asset prices developments including interest rates and exchange rate;
h) Performing other related duties as may be assigned by the head of division.
Essential Requirements:
- Master's degree in economics.
- Knowledge of modeling and forecasting using econometrics/quantitative techniques will be an added advantage
- Analytical skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Good team player.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
ASSISTANT BANK OFFICER (INSURANCE) – 1 POST
Reports to: Head of Division.
Location: Head Office – Administrative & General Services Department
Job purpose: To process acquisition and renewal of insurance covers, file claims and follow-up on settlement.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Processing acquisition and renewal of insurance cover for the Bank's properties and personnel;
2. Initiating and following-up on all insurance claims in respect of any damaged property or injured personnel;
3. Filing claims with insurers in respect of injuries/loss or damage to human and material resources;
4. Making follow-up on all claims filed and ensuring timely settlement;
5. Initiating requests for up-to-date data on the value of insurable properties from the custodian departments for cover acquisition and renewal purposes;
6. Performing other related duties as may be assigned by the head of division.
Essential Requirements:
- Diploma in Insurance management
- Computer literacy.
- Good team player.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
