The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is seeking to recruit a
qualified, motivated and experienced Finance / Accounts Assistant who
will, under the direct supervision of the Finance and Accounts Officer
perform a variety of specialized tasks in finance and accounting,
including payroll and processing receivables.
The successful candidate will maintain financial records and
monitoring systems to record and reconcile expenditures, balances,
payments, statements and other data for day-to-day
transactions and reports, vouchers, etc. and reconciling data for
recurring or special reports.
Will monitor accounts receivables and maintain related files. Will
select and enter data from a wide variety of documents, verifying for
accuracy by checking sources, making necessary calculations and
assuring inclusion of all relevant data.
· Will also prepare and process payroll. Will monitor all GL accounts
affected by the payroll i.e. Pension fund, collective salary advances,
medical insurance plan (MIP) contributions etc. · The successful
candidate will advise and assist international staff, experts and
consultants on all aspects of allowances, salary advances, travel
claims and other financial matters, and calculate and initials
payments due for claim and services. · Will initiate correspondence to
verify data, answers queries and obtain additional information on
accounts and financial transactions, as required. · Will review and
settle personal claims (travel, security reimbursements, etc.) ·
Attend to any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to
time. Qualification: Should have completed Secondary education with
additional commercial training in book keeping or accounting.
University Degree in Accounting or Finance desirable. Good knowledge
of SAP is an advantage. Work Experience: Minimum of six years of
general accounting clerical experience. Language:Fluent in English and

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is seeking to recruit a
qualified, motivated and experienced Child Protection Specialist
(Juvenile Justice) who will be responsible for the planning,
implementation, monitoring and evaluation of assigned
programme/project(s) within the child protection sector, with a focus
on programming to protect the rights of children in conflict with the
law. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide substantive advice, recommendations and input in the
formulation of country programme documents and plans of actions
relating to the child justice component of the Child Protection
program.
Promote the quality of rights-based Child Protection programmes
through participation in the formulation of programme goals,
strategies and approaches.
Take primary responsibility for the development and implementation
of the sectoral work plan in relation to juvenile justice, in
compliance with the defined programme strategies and approaches.
Conduct periodic monitoring of programmes, including through field
visits and programme reviews with Government counterparts and other
partners.
Ensure exchange of information and experience, identification of
new strategies and courses of action to accelerate/improve delivery of
services and achievement of Child Protection programme requirements
and objectives.
Interact with Government and other partners, NGOs, UN and
bilateral agencies in the different stages of juvenile justice
programme/project implementation to follow up on agreements and
recommendations.
EDUCATION:
· Advanced university degree, preferably in law, social sciences, or
other relevant field.
· Experience in the areas of social work, child protection or justice
will be an added advantage.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Five (5) years of relevant professional work experience at
national or international levels in child protection or child justice,
including field work experience.
Experience of working in the UN or other international development
organizations is an advantage.
LANGUAGE:
Fluency in English and Kiswahili
