Research Fellows
TheMakerere Institute of Social Research in Kampala, Uganda, invites applicationsfor four Research Fellow positions in the fields of Political Studies, CulturalStudies (including literature and anthropology), Political Economy, andHistory. All levels of experience and all areas of specialization will beconsidered. Applicants must have a well-defined research agenda and a strong commitment to teaching in a graduateprogramme. Research Fellows will be expected to pursue original research,publish consistently in international forums, teach two graduate seminars ayear, and contribute to the institutional development of MISR as a premiere researchinstitution in Africa. Applicants should have their Ph.D. by June, 2012 in anappropriate field.
ResearchFellows will be appointed for a three-year term, with the possibility ofrenewal. The appointments will begin in 2012 contingent upon final budgetary approval.Salary is competitive.
Interviewsof selected candidates will be held at the African Studies Association conferencein Washington, D.C., in November, 2011, or later byappointment
