FCI seeks to hire Markets and Trade Manager, Finance and Administrative Manager, Office Assistant and a Driver to immediately fill available vacancies at FCI Tanzania Country Office.





Markets and Trade Manager

Vacancy Number: FCI /MTM- 01/ National / TZ/2011-004

Department: Markets & Trade [Manager Level only]

Farm Concern International seeks to hire a highly experienced marketing specialist with extensive knowledge in private sector systems, markets and trade. The incumbent must demonstrate solid skills in documentation, market development, private sector partnerships, market entry and promotions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Design and supervise implementation marketing strategies for various market segments, countries and selected agricultural products.

2. Develop Strategic partnerships between Traditional market players, medium enterprises and Farm Concern International.

3. Design and implement commodity and trade projects in the region.

4. Plan, organize, participate and facilitate market and trade meetings in the region.

5. Supervise Traders Association support.

6. Prepare trade / private sector partnership agreements.

7. Co-ordinate / supervise sales projections per country /project/commodity.

8. Supervise market research, market monitoring, market trends and targeted marketing for various commodities.

9. Supply chain management based on smallholder supplies.

10. Manage / co-ordinate sales promotions and marketing events.

Qualifications and experience:

1. At least University Degree or Advanced Diploma in Marketing / Agricultural Economics / Strategic Marketing / Business from recognized Higher Learning Institutions.

2. Excellent project management skills.

3. A proven record on documentation: Strategic plans, Business plans, market report writing, market briefs, newsletter, articles and website updates.

4. Extensive experice in market research, market entry, branding and market logistics.

5. Extensive experience in analysis of smallholder household value chain particpation, marketing and trading in Africa.





Finance and Administrative Manager

Vacancy Number: FCI /FADMA- 02/ National / TZ/2011-004

Department: Finance and Administration [Manager Level only]

Farm Concern International seeks to hire a highly experienced Finance and Administration specialist with extensive knowledge in private sector systems, markets and trade. The incumbent must demonstrate solid skills in financial management and administration.


Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assist the Management on aspects of financial management and administration
* Provide technical assistance and oversight on compliance with Donor and stakeholders requirement for financial management
* To facilitate all payments for office administration, project management and monitoring and evaluation.
* To prepare financial reports and submit timely (weekly, monthly quarterly/ /annually) financial reports to the Country Programmes Manager or FCI Regional head quarters in Nairobi
* Make follow-up of funds from FCI-Regional head quarters and imprest retirement from project staff
* Record all financial transactions, maintain accounts records and safeguard Organizations’ assets in accordance with GAAP
* Facilitate general custodian services to include maintenance of office equipment, motor vehicle, cleanliness and other office services
* Perform the implementation of financial administration, financial monitoring, and set up of internal control system
* Carrying out monthly reconciliation that is bank reconciliation, staff debtors, creditors, staff imprest etc.
* Assist in budget preparation for office and project
* Review travel advance accounts to all staff
* Manage the project audit in close communication with Programmes Manager
* Carry out any other assignments as may be assigned by the supervisor and or the management

Job Requirements:

Degree in B.com (Accounting or Finance), Bachelor in Accounting and Finance, Advanced Diploma in Accountancy from recognized university, Institute or college. Other equivalent qualifications in the relevant field are also invited.

At least a minimum of 2 years working experience in finance and administration is desirable.

Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work with people from different professional background.



Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.



Ability to translate financial rules and regulations



Pro-active, collaborative and ability to organize and prioritize demanding activities



Ability to organize and meet deadlines



Ability to produce daily liquidity position





Office Assistant

Vacancy Number: FCI /OAT- 03/ National / TZ/2011-004

Department: Administration, Partnership and Strategy [Assistant Level Only]



Duties and Responsibilities:



* Welcome/Receive visitors relating to work, receive and file incoming letters, telephone calls and transfer them to the appropriate staff.

* Supply and manage office equipments, machines or properties to office and kitchen utilities. .
* Schedule meetings/calendar events and remind the relevant persons on the meetings and making appointments
* Assist Progammes Manager, maintain a safe and secure work environment, and maintain good working relationships with all relevant partners and departments
* Assist in maintenance of office efficiency, plan and implement office systems, layouts, and equipment procurement.
* Assist in ensuring rules and procedures in place regarding working hours, lunch, office closure and communications about security are adhered to.
* Assist in the management of Petty Cash and assist in record keeping, monitor expenses, and raise invoices.
* Perform general clerical duties to include, but not limited to, copying, faxing, mailing and filing
* Assist in travel arrangements for staff
* Assist in collecting and maintaining inventory of office equipment and supplies.
* Assist in researching, price and purchasing of office furniture, equipment and supplies.
* Assist in arranging for the repair and maintenance of office equipment.
* Support staff in assigned project‐based work
* Assist with overall maintenance of the organization and its offices.
* Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff and agency information.
* Carry out any other assignments as may be assigned by the supervisor and or the management

Job Requirements:

* Certificate in either Secretarial Studies or Customer Care Relations or Office Management.
* At least 2 years working experience in related field and particularly in an NGO or private sector.
* Good communication skill in English and Kiswahili
* Good command of PC skills incl. MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Possessing good teamwork spirit
* Be flexible and eager to learn new things





Driver



Vacancy Number: FCI /OPN- 04/ National / TZ/2011-004

Department: Finance and Administration [Assistant Level Only]

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Will be in-charge of a vehicle as deployed.
* Any other duties assigned from time to time.

· Operates assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.

· Maintains defensive driving



· Provides a communication link between clients and staff.



· Reads and interprets maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route service and reads and interprets road signs in English and Kiswahili.



· Keeps the assigned vehicle(s) clean inside and outside.



· Maintains accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested from management.



· Fuels the assigned vehicle(s).



· Coordinates the schedule for major or periodic vehicle maintenance with management and staff to minimize service interruptions.



· Serves as a positive role model while providing transportation service.

· Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor and or the management

.

Qualifications and experience:

* He/She must possess a valid Driving License Class C
* He/she must have completed form FOUR and attained a minimum grade of D (Plain)
* He/She must have a minimum experience of 2 years, driving preferably in an NGO, private institution/Company.
* He/she must be a Tanzania citizen
* Be flexible and eager to learn new things
