Oxfam GB is an International NGO working with others to find lasting solutions to poverty and suffering in Tanzania and more than 80 other countries worldwide.

In Tanzania, Oxfam GB is currently working in Ngorongoro district and Shinyanga region, focusing on Economic Justic - Rural Livelihoods (including smallholder, pastoralist and women's livelihoods), Social Justice centered in active citizenship, quality education and Community Empowerment.

We are currently looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable Finance Officer to enhance the impact of our work in Tanzania.

The role

• Reporting to Finance and System Manager, the person will be responsible in processing day to day financial transactions including payments, cash management, floats management, invoicing, preparation of bank reconciliations and payroll administration, budget monitoring and management of expenditure of donor funded projects, expenditure reporting, support budget holders in using OPAL and CRIMSON.

• The person will also be responsible to maintaining and consolidating updated financial records and data analyze financial data to support decision-making and cost effectiveness.

• To achieve this role, the person will be required to analyze and appraise programme budget, understanding of cash procedures, be able to maintain close links with the banks and understanding of legal and regulatory environment affecting Oxfam work to ensure timely and compliance to laws and regulations as well as proper use of computerized financial systems including accounts package and people soft designed for Oxfam GB purpose

Qualifications:

• A candidate envisaged for this role will hold a university degree or equivalent preferably coupled with ACCA or CPA (T), with a minimum working experience of two years as an accountant.

• Experience in working with International Non Governmental organizations will be an added advantage.

• The person should demonstrate sense of focus, ability to work independently with minimum supervision

• Understanding of project cycle and programme management

• Ability to use computerized financial systems, high level of initiatives with, good communication and interpersonal skills

• Shows high level of planning skills, team working and ability to work in a culturally diverse organization
