African Barrick Gold (ABG) seeks to appoint a dedicated, self motivated and highly organized Project Engineer to join the Capital Project team. Based in Bulyanhulu Mine Site, the successful applicant will be responsible with maintaining of project activities in safe standards.
Reporting Line: Senior Projects Engineer
Location: Bulyanhulu Gold Mine; 1500km inland from Dar es Salaam; Shinyanga Regional, Kahama District.
Work Schedule: Rotational Status, (8 weeks on 4 weeks off)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-
· Design, detailing, cost estimation, scope, planning and scheduling for project activities.
· Review and check engineering details, design, cost estimate for various projects.
· Coordinate with various project owners for execution of projects to meet owner’s objectives
· Provide supervision for mechanical, piping, civil, equipment installation and commissioning activities related to projects.
· Establish and monitor safe working environment in line with Barrick policies at project site.
· Provide guidance to supervisors, contractors team and site inspectors in execution of projects. Taking care of training and development needs for project team.
· Conduct progress and safety meetings and inspections as per Barrick procedures
· Manage routine administrative work related to project team and contractors.
· Floating enquiries and preparation comparative statements.
· Manage contractors working for projects at site, coordinate on material and labour issues.
· Compile progress and cost reports, review progress and cost to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
· Ensure effective communication of project planning and progress to project owner, management and project team.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills required:
· BSc in Engineering (Civil/Structural) from recognized Institution.
· Candidate must be registered with Board of Engineers(Tanzania)
· Minimum of 5 years of experience after graduation, Mining/Industrial experience will be an added advantage.
· Minimum of 5 years of computer aided design (CAD) and Microsoft Project.
· Strong leadership and organized skills.
· Strong computer skills(Auto card,Microsoft project)
· Resilience, resourcefulness, initiative and accountability.
· Able to work under minimum supervision.
· Strong writing and reading skills.
· Able to train and pass on knowledge.
· High degree of patience and tolerance.
· Able to work safety and ability to identify hazards.
· Produce high quality of work with attention to details.
