MSc Study Programme Global Change Management

                                  International Master Study Programme 
                                    Global Change Management (M.Sc.)
 
Students who graduated or will graduate in summer 2011 as (at least) a Bachelor of a subject related to natural resources and / or socioeconomics may apply at Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development, Germany to be one of the 25 participants admitted for the two-year study programme Global Change Management (M.Sc.). Classes will begin in September 2011.
The mission of GCM is to educate specialists who are able to cope with challenges of natural resource management under global change in an adaptive, proactive and precautionary manner. This will be achieved by developing goal-oriented and science-informed solutions that are ultimately directed towards sustainability. Essentially, students analyse global change in its causes and effects as well as socioeconomic and political framework conditions. The emphasis is on both, mitigation of and adaptation to the current global change impacts on ecosystems and
societies.

A diverse, practical and up-to-date study programme is implemented through close cooperation with renowned institutions of related research and practical background. These institutions are among others the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ), Germanwatch, the MunichRe, the Naturschutzbund (NABU), the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and the von-Thünen-Institut (vTI). They share their expertise by offering own teaching modules integrated into the study programme.

Study language is English; for a few elective modules German.
The programme is offered yearly. Commencing studies is only possible in autumn. For international applicants, please, apply by 01st May 2011 (the latest). For German applicants, the deadline is 15th July 2011.
