PROJECT MANAGER: CAPACITY FOR REFORM MANAGEMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION


  • Position title:Project Manager 
    Project Title:Capacity for Reform Management and Implementation - Zanzibar
    Duration:1 year with possible extension.
    Starting Date Immediately
    Duty Stations: Zanzibar, President's Office Finance, Economy and Development Planning (POFEDP).Implementing Partner: Planning Commission - ZANZIBAR.
    1:Background
    The President's Office Finance, Economy and Development Planning - Zanzibar wishes to recruit a suitable Tanzanian candidate to fill the position of Project Manager for Capacity for Reform Management and Implementation Project in Zanzibar. The UNDP country programme for Tanzania is anchored on the United Nations Development Assistance Plan (UNDAP: 2011 - 2015) and Common Country Programme Document (CCPD). The UNDAP and CCPD are aligned with main national development policy and programming frameworks, namely: the Zanzibar Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty (MKUZA 11) and the Government Joint Assistance Strategy (JAST). The country programme is mainly focused in three areas of priority, which are good governance, environment and climate change, and growth.
    2:Qualification and Experience Required
  • At least a Masters Degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Economic Development, Development Studies, Law and Sociology, International Development, or any other relevant disciplines.
  • Must have knowledge and experience in project management for at least three years.
  • Must possess at least five years of experience in some areas related to public sector reforms, policy development, national planning, resource mobilization and capacity development.
  • Good interpersonal skills and experience in advocacy work in areas related to implementation of public policy, public sector reform and systems change.
    3:Other Personal Attributes:
  • Good technical and organization skills.
  • A self starter with ability to work under minimum supervision to meet short deadlines.
  • Team building skills and ability to deal with multiple teams located in multiple locations.
  • Experience in implementing and reporting on donor funded projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English and Kiswahili.
