UNICEF, The United Nations Children's Fund is seeking to recruit a qualified, motivated and experienced Child Protection Specialist who will be accountable for professional technical contribution to project design, planning, administration, monitoring and evaluation of Child Protection programme/project activities, data analysis and progress reporting, and commitment for enhancement of teamwork and capacity building, in support of achievement of planned objectives of the work plan, aligned with country programme goals and strategy.NOB Fixed Term – TNZ11014
RESPONSIBILITIES1.
Ensure the availability of accurate, complete and up-to-date information required for effective Child Protection programme and project design, implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation. 2. Enhance project efficiency and effectiveness through implementation follow-on, including monitoring UNICEF inputs, local conditions and resources, flow of supply and non-supply assistance and Child Protection project status.3. Analyze collected data and information and prepare progress reports; draft changes in Child Protection project work plans and assist in identification of required supplies and equipment as well as in the drafting of Country Programme Recommendation and other project documentation, assuring accuracy and consistency with established rules, regulations and plans of action. 4. Compile Child Protection project implementation training and orientation materials and good practice examples to promote knowledge sharing with donors and media. Ensure coherent and coordinated information flow amongst implementing partners.5. Ensure the effective communication and networking developed and maintained through partnership and collaboration.6. Serve as the information management focal point within the Child Protection team and develop systems for program monitoring and evaluation
EDUCATION: · University degree in the social sciences, law or child development.
WORK EXPERIENCE: · Two years of relevant professional work experience – experience in child protection monitoring is an advantage.
· Experience working in the UN or other international development organization is an advantage. Provide substantive advice, recommendations and input in the formulation of country programme documents and plans of actions relating to the access to justice component of the Child Protection program.2. Promote the quality of rights-based Child Protection programmes through participation in the formulation of programme goals, strategies and approaches. 3. Takes primary responsibility for the development of the sectoral work plan and technical decisions in relation to access to justice as well as for programme management, implementation and monitoring of assigned project/sectoral activity, in compliance with the defined programme strategies and approaches. 4. Ensure exchange of information, experience, identify new strategies and courses of action to accelerate/improve delivery of services and achieve Child Protection programme requirements and objectives. Conduct field visits to monitor programmes and collect information. Conduct periodic programme reviews with Government counterparts and other partners.5. Interact with Government and other partners, NGOs, UN and bilateral agencies in the different stages of access to justice programme/project implementation to follow up on agreements and recommendations.
EDUCATION:
· Advanced university degree, preferably in the social sciences, law or other relevant field.
