TAEEs Civil Technician

Organization: Tanzania Association of Environmental Engineers (TAEEs) Job location: Outside Dar es Salaam

Salary range: Negotiable (upon satisfaction of required qualities)

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

In order to ensure wider reach to the marginalized community and ensure their close involvement in the delivery and management of technical services, the applicant will need to devote diligently efforts, experience and tech-know-how to ensure the promising output for the assignment ahead.

The civil technician will be responsible for provision of professional technical support and guidance on activities within the areas of civil.

The civil technician will coordinate her/his activities with other departmental staff within and outside the organization boundaries to ensure that the program succeeds. The following shall be her/his duties and responsibilities

·         Supervising constructional activities in all civil works and other works as may deem expedient/required.

·         Undertake other organization activities that will assigned by senior officer

·         Help civil engineers plan and design civil, water and sewerage works.

·         Help plan and supervise the construction of various civil works

·         Undertake supervision of civil works in areas where TAEEs is currently working

·         Prepare progress and updated work reports and submit to senior officer


Minimum qualifications and professional experience

·         Full technician certificate (FTC) from recognized technical college

·         Technical certificate from other technical or polytechnic institutions (including VETA)

·         Minimum 3 years of progressively relevant professional working experience in civil related activities.

·         Ability to coordinate a range of diverse actors and activities to achieve a common objective in the area of civil is essential.

·         Exposure to TAEEs mandate, its priorities and principles.

·         Knowledge and experience of working with local partner agencies with a capacity to provide formal and informal training.

·         Proficiency in basic computer software such as MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, AutoCAD or any CAD related software.

·         Good command of English and Swahili (written/ oral/ comprehension).


Desirable qualifications & competencies

Those who desire to work as volunteers are highly recommended and high priority shall be given to them

Young engineers who feel to gain experience in this field are also encouraged to apply.
