The Shuttleworth foundation offers fellowships to individuals to implement their innovative idea for social change. It is most interested in exceptional ideas at the intersection between openness, technology, knowledge and learning. The fellowship is not an academic fellowship aimed at research or academic study. Applicants should be social change agents who push boundaries and challenge accepted norms. Who can apply?
This fellowship offers you the freedom and financial ability to bring about the change you envisage for the world as well as an enabling support structure and an existing network of social change agents. The Foundation will also support the Fellow to take their good ideas and turn them into successful initiatives. In addition, the Fellow will have access to potential project funding from the Foundation, who will match the Fellow's personal investment in projects by at least ten fold. The total grant amount will be based on the Fellow's qualifications, experience and comparable cost of time for their skill level. Fellows are expected to provide full time and attention to the focus area selected for their fellowship. The fellowship aims to free up the time of the Fellow to pursue their ideas in this area. Fellows are required to attend the bi-annual Fellows gatherings. Fellows are asked to live out loud, communicating openly and actively on their ideas, projects and strategies. Fellowship applications are reviewed by the Shuttleworth Foundation management team and advisors. Shortlisted candidates are selected for interviews. HOW TO APPLY
GENERAL CONDITIONS
i. All applicants must be Citizens of Tanzania
ii. Applicants must attach an up-to-date current Curriculum Vitae (CV) having reliable contact postal address, e-mail addres and telephone numbers.
iii. Applicants should not be above 45 years of age and should observe the age limit where indicated for each position.
iv. The title of the position applied for should be marked on the envelope; short of which will make the application invalid.
v. Applicants must attach their detailed relevant certified copies of Academic certificates:
- Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificates.
- Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma transcripts.
- Form IV and Form VI National Examination Certificates.
- Computer Certificate
- Professional certificates from respective boards
- One recent passport size picture and birth certificate.
vii. FORM IV AND FORM VI RESULTS SLIPS ARE STRICTLY NOT ACCEPTED
viii. Testimonials, Partial transcripts and results slips will not be accepted.
ix. Presentation of forged academic certificates and other information in the CV will necessitate to legal action
x. Applicants for senior positions currently employed in the public service should route their application letters through their respective employers.
xi. Applicants for entry levels currently employed in the Public Service should not apply, they have to adhere to Government Circular Na. CAC. 45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November 2010.
xii. Applicants who have/were retired from the Public Service for whatever reason should not apply.
xiii. Applicants should indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contacts.
